Chapter One - Fresh-Baked Grace For The Spiritually Hungry
Chapter One - Fresh-Baked Grace For The Spiritually Hungry
Objective:
It's hard to extend others what you haven't allowed yourself, but truth remains. God loves you as you are. There's nothing you can do to make Him love you more or less. This is the grace o God.
Preparing for the Lesson:
Be in prayer as you read Romans 5:18-21, 2 Corinthians 4:16, Matthew 20:13-16, Romans 3:9-18 and Romans 3:9-10. I suggest that you read the same scriptures in your version of the Bible and then in another version of the Bible.
The Journey of the Lesson: (I have given my thoughts as the answers to the questions.)
What do you think? I would love for you to answer the questions in the comments section below.
1. What is meant God's Grace?
Grace is God's unmerited favor, undeserved kindness, approval, acceptance and favor towards sinners because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
2. What does it mean that our inner nature is being renewed every day?
Our inner self is wasting away and suffers wear and tear, but the inner man receives fresh strength. Though our bodies are dying, our inner selves are growing and being renewed every day.
3. What are three of your favorite Bible verses or hymns that describe God's grace?
John 1:14, Numbers 6:25 and Romans 3:24.
4. Who is Charles Grandison Finney?
Charles Grandison Finney is a Presbyterian Minister, Evangelist, Revivalist and author. He is The Father of Modern Revivalism. He once said, "A state of mind that see God in everything is evidence of growth in grace and a thankful heart".
5. Tell about a time when you saw the hand of God in some event?
When I was writing this Teacher's Guide.
6. What are you dealing with right now that you don't remember signing up for?
Peripheral Neuropathy spreading up my right leg from my right foot.
7. What did Jesus mean, "So the last will be first and the first last?"
Reward in heaven is based on God's grace. The last to enter the kingdom will be first to have remission of sins and hope.
8. What does it mean to be righteous?
Obeying God's laws.
Going Forth:
Repeat the prayer together at the end of this chapter.

Introduction
About 4 years ago God called me to write a Bible study. I didn't know what to write so I called Bonnie Thompson, member of Northminster Presbyterian Church of Tucson, AZ.
Bonnie and I got together and decided for my to write a workbook to go with "Let Go" by Sheila Walsh and if I had time, write a teacher's guide to go with it and that Bonnie would help me with both of them as she had time. Bonnie Thompson helped me the next 3 years (we met approximately once a month) with the workbook and the 4th year I worked on the teacher's guide and both got done.
I got to see Sheila Walsh in person in 2009 when she was appearing on Women of Faith Conference in Phoenix AZ. Her voice was so beautiful and she gave a wonderful presentation that I wanted to buy her book 'Let Go".
In her book "Let Go", Sheila teaches you to accept yourself and that I like most about the book.
